January 2012

2012 at Salem United Methodist Church slipped in over a weekend - without storms & with a
flurry of preparations for Youth Rally!  The new year is a wonderful time for each member to
consider the meaning of our new church vision in their life & the possibilities we are called to as a
congregation . . . to be a DYNAMIC COMMUNITY, COMMITTED to JESUS, to GLORIFY GOD!

We exist to glorify God through our commitment to Jesus
which is reflected in the dynamism of the Salem community!

We are a dynamic community by our very diversity, as we worship & play together, as we reach
beyond our curbs to respond to the needs of the community around us.  We are growing in
commitment to Jesus & dynamism as more members enter into Bible study, risk mission
experience & new ministries that stretch our compassion & the reach of God’s grace in
Pocomoke & wherever we find ourselves.

God is glorified as we risk letting go of who we are to find out who we can become. When we
understand that the WORD is made flesh through our commitment to others - those who need
tutoring through Project Intervene – the fragile at Hartley Hall & other care facilities – the “wee
ones” who need Children’s Time messages, the youth who need Sunday school & caring adults
to make the youth group go!

I pray for God’s blessing & leading in your life in 2012. And, I ask you to pray most urgently for a
Youth Leader for our teens who are hungry for all the direction & affection we can offer them.

With deep affection nurtured through the loving kindness of our most gracious God,
Pastor Sally
