| March came
in like a lamb - mild and sunny - not balmy, but calm compared to the
winter that is now behind us! Many of us are ready for spring and
reminders that God, the great author of life, is readying to bring new
life! Even as we enter this time between winter and spring, we are traveling the Lenten road from the ministry of Jesus, the "Lamb of God, " to his final sacrifice on the cross. Each week in Sunday worship at 9:30AM we are reflecting upon the last words of Christ and the message they have for our lives today. On Wednesday evenings we are gathering for Lenten Suppers at 6PM to feast, fellowship and hear a story to trigger the mind and heart. You are welcome to join us! And please mark your calendars for the week beginning March 28th - Palm Sunday - which will be a joyous worship celebration of the ministry of Jesus! What a reminder of what can be accomplished with great commitment in a short period of time! Holy Thursday night April 1 at 7PM we will gather for a communion service and remembrance of the Last Supper. Good Friday April 2 the Pocomoke Ministerium will host a community-wide noon day service at Bethany UMC to reflect on the crucifixion of Jesus. And Easter Sunday April 4 Salem will celebrate with a Sunrise Service and breakfast beginning at 6:45AM and traditional worship at 9:30AM. Come experience new life at Salem United Methodist Church! Worship, study and grow with us! Young children and youth participate in worship! Gifted musicians lead our services! The Word of God is preached! You will be blessed! May the grace of God, the love of Christ, and the Spirit's peace be yours today. Pastor
