(Doll Project)

March 3, 2006: A very kind lady from New Hampshire has donated 36 large baby dolls to the Salem ministries serving the Appalachian region.  It is her wish that we dress the dolls and give them to children in the impoverished regions served by Red Bird Missionary Conference and Appalachian Service Project.  Donna Clarke is leading the group of volunteers who are making the doll clothes and dressing the dolls which sell for $100 in craft markets.  Donna has both kits and patterns for the doll dresses, bonnets and bloomers.  All dolls must be completed before April 30th, 2006.  After that we will be displaying the dolls so they can be named and adopted.  Think of honoring someone special by naming a doll.  For $25, you can name a doll in honor of that favorite girl or lady.  Each doll will leave Salem with a birth certificate.  The dolls will be in the sanctuary on Mother's Day.  Please see Donna Clarke, Jennifer Holland or Laura Morrison for adoption papers.  Twelve dolls will go with the ASP team to West Virginia, and 24 dolls will go to the Redbird Missionary Conference in Beverly KY.
